How much does it cost?
Right now, 50% off for the first 100 founding shops
— Solo $50.00, Shop $75.00,
Shop Plus $125.00. Locked for as long as you stay
subscribed, and it follows you if you move up a plan. After the
founding window fills: Solo $99.99 (1 user), Shop $149.99 (up to 5),
Shop Plus $249.99 (unlimited). Every plan includes a generous monthly
AI allowance. 14-day free trial, no card required.
The one condition on "for life": keep the subscription active. The
rate holds for as long as your shop stays subscribed — through
every plan change and every price rise we ever announce. If the
subscription lapses or you cancel, the founding rate ends with it
and coming back is at whatever the price is then.
What does "you own your data" actually mean?
Three real things: (1) you can export everything to JSON or CSV at
any time from the Privacy page — no export fee, no notice period;
(2) on Shop and Shop Plus, your full shop database is backed up every night
to your own cloud storage bucket using a key only you hold — if our
cloud disappeared tomorrow you'd still have last night's snapshot in
your own account; (3) on Shop Plus, the local mirror keeps a read-only
replica of your shop running on your own hardware. Your data is yours
on day one and stays that way.
How do I start?
Sign up and you're in — a live shop with a 14-day free trial, no
card required. Set it up yourself in minutes; we're a message away
if you get stuck. The first 100 shops lock half off their plan
for as long as they stay subscribed.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, both directions, anytime. Upgrade is instant; downgrade takes
effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Your data stays
exactly where it is.
One thing worth knowing: if you downgrade to a plan with fewer
users than you currently have logging in, you keep everyone for
7 days — with the date and the count shown in
Settings — and then the most recently added logins are switched
off. Never the owner, nothing deleted, and one click in Team turns
anyone back on once you have the seat. Technicians on your roster
aren't affected: they don't log in, so they don't use a seat, and
you can have as many as you like on any plan.
What about taxes, payment processing, SMS fees?
The plan price is software-only, and taxes are extra.
Text messaging is bring-your-own: Twilio bills you
directly at their rates on your own account, and we don't mark that
up by a cent. Online card payments are live —
they switch on for your shop once you connect Stripe in Settings,
which is ordinary onboarding. They run through a
Stripe account you own and settle straight to your bank, and on
those we charge 3.4% + 30¢ per transaction. Most of that is Stripe's own processing cost;
roughly half a percent is ours. Pay-over-time methods (Affirm,
Klarna, Afterpay) cost more to process, so they carry a higher rate
— every rate is itemized in Settings → Payments before you turn the
feature on. Payments you take in person or in cash and record
yourself are free.
How is this different from the legacy shop software?
Two things stand out: you own your data on every
plan (export to CSV or JSON anytime, no fee, no waiting),
and honest terms — no setup fees, no per-tech
surcharges, no multi-year contracts.
What happens if I cancel?
On the last day of your billing period your account becomes
read-only. You have 90 days to log in, export everything, and move to
wherever you're going next. After 90 days the account is fully purged
from our cloud. If you were on Layer 1 or Layer 2, your bucket
snapshots and local mirror are still in your possession — we can't
touch them.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes — within 7 days of your first payment, no questions asked. If
Daedalus doesn't fit your shop,
email
[email protected]
and we'll refund that payment in full and help you export.

for the human side. Short version: a small team with a real
automotive background, building Daedalus because the existing options
hold your data hostage and nickel-and-dime independent shops. We're
transparent about being early; the Founding Customer program is honest
about being a partnership, growing pains and all.
