Light is the default — matches the website and reads well in a bright shop bay. Dark is easier on the eyes over a long night shift. System follows your OS setting.

Your accent colour is used on the customer portal so it wears your shop's look.

Daedalus AI

RAG-grounded assistant for diagnostics, maintenance, and vehicle questions.

API connection

Without a key, Daedalus AI uses a local knowledge-base lookup — useful offline, but limited. Get a key at console.anthropic.com.

Backup & Recovery

Automatic snapshots of all your shop data — customers, vehicles, repair orders, invoices.

To restore: open View snapshots and pick a date. Daedalus auto-saves a pre-restore copy first so you can roll back. If the app won't start, run python -m daedalus.tools.restore_backup --latest.

Off-site backup

Keep a secure copy in a storage account you own — AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, or any S3-compatible provider. Daedalus encrypts before upload, so only you can read it. You set up the account and pay the provider directly (typically $1–5/month).

Download all your data

One file with everything on your shop's account — customers, vehicles, repair orders, estimates, invoices, and payments. A spreadsheet (CSV) for each, plus a machine-readable copy for moving into another system. It's yours, no contract, export anytime.

Live mirror to a computer you own

Keep a continuously-updated, read-only copy of all your shop data on a computer at your shop — the strongest ownership claim. Set it up once on an always-on computer; everything you need is right here.

  1. 1
    Download the backup app
A small file. Runs on Windows, Mac, or Linux — needs Python (free) installed.
  2. 2
    Generate your secure key
A one-time key the app uses to read your data. Shown once — keep it private (anyone with it can read your shop's data); you can revoke it anytime below.
  3. 3
    Start it on that computer
Download your ready-to-run launcher into the same folder as the app (step 1), then double-click it. Your address + key are already built in — it installs the helper and starts backing up.
Generate your key (step 2) to enable these.
Leave the window open after it starts — closing it stops the backup; it re-syncs about every 5 minutes. Use a computer that stays awake (not a laptop that sleeps). Mac: if double-click doesn't open it, right-click the file → Open.
Prefer to run the command yourself?
In Terminal (Mac/Linux) or Command Prompt (Windows), in the app's folder:
